The agricultural technology company has appointed John de Jonge as interim CEO.

VANCOUVER — CubicFarm Systems Corp. says it has made some key leadership changes and appointed John de Jonge as interim chief executive officer of CubicFarms and president of HydroGreen following the departure of prior Interim chief executive officer Edoardo De Martin at CubicFarms and of former president Dan Schmidt at HydroGreen.

de Jonge has been in the industry for over two decades, having served as a senior leader in multiple agricultural businesses, including the owner of Artex Barns Inc. through to its sale in 2021. He was involved in the invention and development of the Comfort Zone FreeStall System and Big-Box dairy design.

“We have the right technology, resources, and talent for future growth in our selected markets. I look forward to working with the team to build on the foundation that has been laid, leading the company to profitable success,” de Jonge stated.

De Martin also commented that de Jonge is the right person to carry the company forward with his extensive track record in manufacturing, agriculture and dairy operations. He added that he looks forward to watching the company continue to grow under de Jonge’s leadership.

Daniel Burns, chair of the board of directors expressed that de Jonge is well-positioned to help orient the company towards success, and that previous work with him has shown him de Jonge’s extensive experience and relationships in the dairy industry which should also prove beneficial for the company.
