The Robert Bosch Group has sold its foundation brakes business to Caliper Acquisition International, a division of investment firm KPS Capital Partners.

PARIS—The Robert Bosch Group has sold its foundation brakes business to Caliper Acquisition International, a division of investment firm KPS Capital Partners.

The business will operate under the name Chassis Brakes International Group, which overnight has become one of the world’s three largest manufacturers of automotive foundation brakes and foundation brake components with sales of 900 million euros and 6,000 employees in 21 facilities in Europe, Asia Pacific and South America.

The transaction comprises the original equipment business, with manufactures brake calipers, disk brakes, drum brakes and parking brakes sold directly to OEMs and through various aftermarket channels.

Chassis Brakes International and Robert Bosch will continue to conduct business on brake boosters and brake control systems, the companies said in a release.
