Aztec Electrical Supply, one of Rittal System Ltd.’s electrical and automation distributors in Canada, has enhanced its enclosure modification capabilities with the acquisition of the Perforex machining centre, which can be deployed for drilling, thread tapping, wiring and milling when machining enclosures and panels of all sizes.

“Our primary focus is to provide electrical contractors, manufacturing facilities and machine builders with a single source for the support of all electrical controls and automation components,” said Frank Dinis, partner, Aztec Electric Supply, in a prepared statement. “With the Perforex Machining Centre, we are capable of providing custom enclosure builds and modifications, saving valuable time and expense for our customers!”

“We are pleased that our partner Aztec has integrated the Perforex into their Modification Centre, in order to offer their customers enhanced productivity by automating and streamlining manual modification and wiring processes,” Rittal Systems Ltd. president Tim Rourke said in a statement.

According to Rittal, the Perforex machine enables 10 hours of panel production work to be completed in 90 minutes. It provides increased accuracy and reduced waste with its CNC precision-capabilities. Perforex units call upon up to 20 tools in the magazine for operations including drilling tapping, milling and circular thread milling,

Perforex can handle clampable panels up to 3600×2300 mm, and since programming is faster than manual marking, the system is economically advantageous from a batch size of one, says Rittal.
