MONTREAL — AtkinsRéalis appointed ATS Industrial Automation as a new ambassador in support of the Canadians for Candu campaign.

The campaign was launched on February 28, 2024, and promotes the deployment of Candu nuclear technology at home and abroad in support of Canadian and global efforts to reach net-zero emissions.

“I would like to thank ATS Industrial Automation for their leadership in Canada’s nuclear sector, and their support for Candu technology,” said Joe St. Julian, president of nuclear at AtkinsRéalis. “This growing movement can position Canada as a global clean energy champion while promoting a domestic nuclear industry that Canadians can be proud of.”

“ATS Industrial Automation has been supplying the nuclear industry with automated tooling and equipment since 2008. Our beginnings were based on providing tooling for Candu refurbishment projects,” said Narinder Bains, VP of sales for ATS Industrial Automation. “It’s an exciting time in the nuclear industry and we’re going to positively affect climate change and meet the goal of net zero by 2050, then nuclear will need to play an important role.”
