Company bolsters its presence in the health care industry with deal

TORONTO—Richards Packaging Income Fund has announced it will acquire Healthmark Services Ltd., a Canadian provider of sterile IV, chemo and oral drug packaging and dispensing systems. Richards, the third largest packaging distributor in North America, will pay $16.8 million for the Montreal-based company.

“We are delighted with this acquisition because it represents a perfect strategic fit for Richards,” Gerry Glynn, CEO of Richards Packaging, said. “Healthmark will strengthen our position in the health care industry which has been the cornerstone for Richards Packaging since its inception.”

Richards noted Healthmark has operated since 1990 and developed an excellent reputation for providing innovative, cost-effective solutions for the healthcare industry.
