One man dies in industrial accident in Tecumseh, Ont.

A 24-year-old was killed and another man injured in the incident; the Ministry of Labour is investigating

TECUMSEH, Ont.—One man is dead and another is injured after what police described as an industrial accident in southwestern Ontario.

Provincial police say the accident took place in Tecumseh, Ont., but provided no details on what happened.

They say police and local fire services were called to the scene at 6:30 a.m. April 12.

They say a 24-year-old man has died and another, whose age was not released, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Local media reported the accident occurred at Prestressed Systems Inc., a company that makes precast concrete. Citing union sources, the Windsor Star, reported that it appears the incident was the result of an equipment malfunction.

Police say Ontario’s Ministry of Labour has taken over the investigation into the accident.
