TREPASSEY, N.L.—A construction worker in eastern Newfoundland was listed in critical condition in hospital after he fell through a roof he was working on in Trepassey.

RCMP say the 20-year-old man was repairing the roof over Glamox Lighting Corp. when he stepped through a transparent plastic tile and fell about six metres to the building’s concrete floor around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The injured man was air-lifted to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s.

Police did not release his name.
