FinishMaster bought assets of Florida-based Auto Paint and Supply of Lakeland, according to firm

BOUCHERVILLE, Que.—A subsidiary of Canadian auto supply distributor Uni-Select Inc. has bought up the assets of a Florida-based automotive paint firm.

According to Quebec-based Uni-Select, its FinishMaster, Inc. subsidiary this week completed the acquisition of “substantially all” the assets of Auto Paint and Supply of Lakeland, Inc. (APS).

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

With locations in Lakeland and Sarasota, Fla., APS has been servicing the local collision repair industry for more than 15 years.

Uni-Select said the APS locations will merge with FinishMaster’s locations in the same central Florida cities.

FinishMaster operates a total of 29 distribution locations in Florida.

“APS’s focus on providing value and service to their customers compliments FinishMaster’s vision to be the leader in creating value and success for our customers in the refinish market,” FinishMaster president and CEO Steve Arndt said in a statement.

“Combining the experience of our teams enhances our ability to provide great service to our customers.”

FinishMaster is one of the leading national independent distributors of automotive paints, coatings and related accessories in the United States.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., FinishMaster operates three major distribution centres with 167 branches and employs more than 1,400 people in 28 states.

Uni-Select is a major distributor of replacement parts, equipment, tools, accessories, paint and related products for motor vehicles in North America.

The company is one of the largest distributors in Canada’s automotive industry, and the fifth largest in the U.S.
