Construction commences immediately on Paterson GlobalFoods’ new facility

Paterson GlobalFoods (PGF) will construct an Oat processing facility adjacent to its existing inland grain terminal in Winnipeg.

The new facility will be known as O Foods Ltd. once completed and will process up to 250,000 metric tonnes of raw oats from Western Canadian farmers every year.

The mill will be situated on Manitoba’s largest private rail siding, consisting of 260 rail cars serviced by Canadian Pacific, Canadian National and BNSF.

PGF, a conglomerate of international agri-food and related businesses, plans to produce oat products at the mill.

“Paterson’s new oat mill will allow PGF to continue to diversify its commodity business with value-added products for the benefit of consumers and farmers alike,” said Andrew Paterson, PGF’s president and CEO.
