EllisDon wins $70.9M contract for campus expansion project at Ontario college

KING CITY, Ont.—Engineering and construction firm EllisDon Corp. has won a $70.9 million contract for a major expansion project at Seneca College’s King Campus north of Toronto.
Awarded by Seneca College and Infrastructure Ontario, the new 200,000 square-foot building will include 25 classrooms and labs, a library, an athletic facility, as well as numerous other spaces for students and faculty. When complete, the project is expected to create space for an additional 1,500 students.
Several divisions of EllisDon are responsible for developing, building and financing the project, while MJM Architects and Montgomery Sisam Architects Inc. will oversee the design.
The Mississauga-headquartered company expects to complete the work by the spring of 2018.
