Ranked fourth behind Hong Kong, Singapore and Denmark; United States placed 22nd overall
LOS ANGELES—Canada has cemented itself as a top global destination for foreign direct investment, according to a new report from the Milken Institute.
According to the report, The Global Opportunity Index: Attracting Foreign Investment, Canada ranked fourth behind Hong Kong, Singapore and Denmark, respectively.
Canada was head-and-shoulders above its neighbours to the south, according to the report, with the United States placing 22nd overall out of 98 countries ranked.
Despite its economic turbulance, the European Union was home to five nations that rounded out the top ten.
The United Kingdom, Netherlands, Finland, Switzerland, Australia and Ireland placed fifth to 10th, respectively.
