Avcorp subsidiary wins flooring contract for Bombardier Global jets

Comtek Advanced Structures Ltd. will design, build flooring for Bombardier's Global 7000, 8000 jets

BURLINGTON, Ont.—A subsidiary of Canadian aircraft structure fabricator Avcorp Industries Inc. said it has won a contract to design and manufacture the floor panels of Bombardier Inc.’s largest Global business jet models.

According to Comtek Advanced Structures Ltd., it has been awarded the deal from the Montreal-based transportation giant to design and build the flooring for Bombardier’s Global 7000 and 8000 aircraft.

“Comtek is pleased to continue its support of Bombardier through the Global 7000 and Global 8000 aircraft programs,” Comtek president Brent Collver said in a statement.

“It is Comtek’s culture to continuously innovate and deliver the highest performing products to our customers. This culture is at the core of our long-standing relationship with Bombardier and we are excited to expand it further into Bombardier’s premier business jet segment.”

Comtek has existing deals in place for the floor panels of Bombardier’s CRJ700, CRJ900, CRJ1000, Q400 and Learjet 85.

The company said it will begin design work on the newest projects early this year.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
