The deal will give Spectrum Brands Armor All's protectants

NEW YORK—Spectrum Brands is buying Armored AutoGroup, the maker of Armor All and STP car care products, for $1.4 billion in cash and stock.

The deal will give Spectrum Brands Armor All’s protectants, tire and wheel-care products, and air fresheners, along with STP’s fuel additives and A/C Pro air conditioner recharge products.

Spectrum Brands owns Kwikset locks, George Forman grills, Black & Decker power tools and home improvement products, Rayovac batteries and Farberware cookware.
