André Gagné new President and CEO at GFT Canada

With the announcement of the new appointment, GFT also recognized Gagné's contribution to the realization of large-scale projects for insurers and the establishment of GFT Canada's insurance centre of excellence.

QUÉBEC CITY — GFT Canada has announced the appointment of André Gagné as head of the company. He succeeds Alain Lamothe as President and CEO.

According to GFT, André Gagné  has worked in the IT industry for over 25 years. He joined the company in 2013 as a solution architect. He progressed to the management team and then became Vice President of the Development Center.

“We want our clients to be confident that they have exceptional transformation partners at their side. Mr. Gagné is indeed a proven leader and I am delighted we make this appointment from within our own organization,” said Marika Lulay, CEO of the global GFT Group in a statement.

With the announcement of the new appointment, GFT also recognized Gagné’s contribution to the realization of large-scale projects for insurers and the establishment of GFT Canada’s insurance centre of excellence.

According to a statement, Mr. Gagné stated that he wishes to take advantage of the accelerating digital shift in the financial sector to consolidate GFT Canada’s presence with large insurance firms. Another focus is to conquer the Canadian banking sector.
