SHERBROOKE, Que.—A Quebec manufacturer that makes flooring and industrial rubber products is spending approximately $11 million to expand its production facility east of Montreal.

After two years spent on research and development, Produits American Biltrite will use the funds to help it launch commercial production of two new rubber flooring products.

The company, which is a Canadian subsidiary of U.S.-based American Biltrite, said the new flooring products will help it gain new market share across North America.

The federal and provincial governments have each pledged funds to support the project and will invest $1.1 million and $550,000 respectively.
