Global Affairs Canada is now accepting applications from manufacturing companies interested in participating in its upcoming R&D mission to Germany.
The Canadian Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Industry 4.0 R&D Partnering Mission in Germany takes place from January 19 to 24, 2020.
The program, which is run through the Embassy of Canada in Berlin and the National Research Council Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), creates an opportunity for small- and medium-size enterprises to uncover industrial R&D collaboration opportunities.
Specifically, projects geared to AI manufacturing between Canadian and German organizations will be considered, with the intention of bringing new products and services to market within three to five years.
Areas of focus will be built around the expertise of the participants and could include: digital twins, predictive maintenance, Quality 4.0, human-robot collaboration, generative design software, logistics 4.0, material science, and 3D printing.
The Canadian International Innovation program (CIIP) may provide financial support to eligible participants for 50% of all eligible travel expenses.
Interested companies and organizations should apply no later than November 29, 2019.
