FORT MCMURRAY, Alta.—A Suncor Energy Inc. employee died at the company’s northeastern Alberta oilsands site Easter Sunday, marking the second worker death at the site this year.

According to the energy giant, the employee was “severely injured while working” at the site near Fort McMurray, Alta., before noon April 20.

The worker was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Suncor said a full investigation will be launched into the matter.
