Company to test newly-developed technology as part of agreement

OTTAWA—BluMetric Environmental Inc. has won a $1.5 million contract with an unnamed customer in Ontario’s mining industry.

Though it released few details about the deal, the Ottawa-based consulting firm said it will be responsible for analysis, planning and construction of a water management system at a Northern Ontario mine. Along with testing and borehole drilling, the work will include a pilot test for a barrier-wall technology recently development by BluMetric.

“Our business development strategy has been to focus on sensitive and challenging environments like the north; on sectors with strong defined needs, such as mining; and on areas of increasing demand, such as hydrogeology,” said Roger Woeller, the company’s CEO, said.

The new deal follows up on a pair of mining industry contracts awarded to the company last month.

BluMetric said it will start work on the project immediately and expects to complete it by July of next year.
