Seven branches to house charging stations for electric vehicles

VANCOUVER—TD customers in seven B.C. communities are about to get a little more than cash out of their local branch.

The Green Machine-sporting, carbon neutral bank has launched an initiative that will put electric vehicle charging stations in six locations in Metro Vancouver, as well as one in Victoria, allowing EV-driving customers to top off their charge while they do their banking.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our environmental commitment while also looking for opportunities to raise the bar in customer service,” Mauro Manzi, senior vice-president of TD Canada Trust’s Pacific Region, said. “From more sustainable branches to longer hours to Sunday banking, the installation of convenient electric vehicle charging stations is our latest way to deliver on this promise.”

TD piloted the charging stations at its 100 per cent solar-powered branch in London, Ont. before launching the current program.
