24 megawatt Frampton wind project opens in Beauce, Que.

Project is covered under a 20-year contract with Hydro-Quebec

MONTREAL—A dozen Enercon E-82 wind turbines have begun turning out power at the 24 megawatt Frampton wind power project in Beauce, Que., south of Quebec City.

Covered under a 20-year power agreement with Hydro-Quebec, the project required approximately $80 million to build.

Kingsey Falls, Que.-based, Boralex Inc. owns a 67 per cent stake in the wind farm, which is located on private land, while the remaining interest is owned by the Municipality of Frampton.

Borelex CEO, Patrick Lemaire pointed to the “exceptional cooperation” of Frampton and the local community as key factors in getting the project completed on time and on budget.
