Award honours companies for ethical practices and corporate governance excellence
KINGSEY FALLS—Cascades Inc has won a “Phare” Award from Korn/Ferry – Les Affaires, organizers of a contest recognizing corporate governance and social responsibility.
The award honours companies and boards of directors for their ethical practices and corporate governance excellence. This year, the judges looked at corporate governance with regard to social responsibility. Cascades captured first prize in the “corporate” category.
“We are very proud of this acknowledgement,” Alain Lemaire, Cascades’ president and CEO. “At Cascades, we believe that all organizations have a moral duty to be socially responsible, that is, to take concrete steps toward incorporating social, environmental and economic issues into their operations.”
The judges acknowledged Cascades’ performance, highlighting its three-year sustainable development plan, which is based on consultation of stakeholders including clients, suppliers, employees, shareholders, local communities and environmental groups.
