OTTAWA: Canadian government has selected a PricewaterhouseCoopers-led consortium to provide financial, technical and engineering services for the construction of the new bridge across the St Lawrence, including the development of the business case for the project.

The business case includes an in-depth analysis of the preferred method for procurement and construction of the bridge. The development of traffic and revenue forecasts and preliminary engineering work to identify possible options and their costs, will also be completed in this phase of the project.

The preparation of the business case will take a maximum of 18 months to complete. The Champlain Bridge sees an estimated $20 billion in international trade cross annually, and the corridor is a significant part of the regional economy and Canada’s economy
