Israel Railways, Bombardier ink $158M deal for 72 new passenger coaches

BERLIN—Israel Railways (ISR) has ordered an additional 72 double-deck coaches from Bombardier Transportation.
The order is part of a framework agreement signed in October 2010, when 150 coaches were ordered by ISR, according to Bombardier.
The 72 car deal is worth approximately $158-million.
Bombardier manufactures and tests the coaches at its Görlitz plant in Germany before they are completed by Bombardier’s partner in Israel, the Dimona-based company Matar.

Deliveries will take place between March 2014 and February 2015.
