Workcell includes UltraSync-E hot runner technology
The fully-electric system was developed in collaboration with medical device manufacturer ICU Medical and mold manufacturer Tech Mold.
The workcell includes Husky’s UltraSync-E hot runner technology, Altanium temperature controller and Shotscope NX process and productivity monitoring software. All functions are managed through Polaris Control.
At PLASTEC, Husky will showcase the 32‐cavity system producing an intravenous Breather Cap medical part weighing 0.18 grams, running at less than 4.0 second cycles. The Breather Cap is an extremely small part that prevents contamination of intravenous needles.
The event runs from February 8 to 10 in Anaheim, California. It will also feature a presentation from Phil Kinson, Husky’s product manager, medical (Americas), on optimizing technology for multi‐cavity medical molds.”
