Steve Davis replaces the retiring Aubrey Ferguson of the Bridgemark branding and design agency.
The Glenn Davis Group has announced Aubrey Ferguson’s retirement as president of their Mississauga, Ont.-based branding and design agency, Bridgemark, succeeded by Steve Davis, formerly the vice-president of operations with Glenn Davis Group.
Ferguson served with Glenn Davis Group for 12 years as president of Davis and as a catalyst for the creation of the Bridgemark agency. During this time, the company more than doubled in sales and staff and now derives 50 of its revenue from U.S. and global clients.
As part of a long-term succession plan, Ferguson assumed responsibility for Bridgemark in 2010.
Ferguson’s observations about his tenure focus on people: “In the past twelve years, our business has been enhanced by bringing in staff with diverse skills and experience. Where once we were perceived mostly as a packaging studio, our investment in people has enabled us to ‘take a seat at the table’ and help clients throughout North America with branding initiatives such as portfolio analysis, positioning and new product development—yet through it all, we’ve never lost the underlying combination of exceptional creative and customer service which our clients repeatedly tell us set our agencies apart.
“What I am most proud of is that although we go toe-to-toe with the largest U.S. based branding agencies, we have not lost our enthusiasm for smaller, more local, project-based clients.”
Steve Davis has now taken the reins at Bridgemark. Over the past 12 years, he has served as an account director within the organization, working with clients throughout North America before his more recent assignments as managing director and vice-president of operations.
Davis’ focus is on having outstanding relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring that client expectations are always exceeded. “Passion plus the right skills are the key to creating breakthrough work – my role is to motivate our team and ensure our environment is engaging, fun and inspirational,” he says.
Glenn Davis Group, which operates Davis and Bridgemark, is collectively the second-largest independent branding and design agency in North America. Founded by Glenn Davis in 1971, the company has transitioned to the next generation. Among the 30+ consumer packaged goods clients served are: Kraft, Mondelez, Unilever, Pfizer, and Ford from the Davis agency; and Johnson & Johnson, Energizer-Schick, Mars-Wrigley, Scotts, and Maple Leaf Foods from the Bridgemark agency.
