Intelligrated engineers give local and international students tours of the facility’s robotics lab.
Intelligrated, a leading North American-owned automated material handling solutions provider, kicked off a series of educational events at its St. Louis facility on Friday, April 13, 2012 for National Robotics Week as it focuses on building interest in robotics engineering for local and international students.
Intelligrated engineers hosted Washington University students, providing them with a tour of the company’s manufacturing operation and Alvey Robotics Lab, a 5,050-square-foot research and development facility that focuses on concepting and applying new robotic innovations. After the tour, students were invited to join Intelligrated engineers for a luncheon and a series of demonstrations.
“As our company grows, so does the demand for robotics engineers,” states Intelligrated executive vice-president Steve Ackerman. “We plan to continue to open our facilities for educational purposes and we hope to spark interest for robotics in students of all ages.”
Intelligrated will continue to host students throughout the month of April, including a group of students from the Netherlands.
