Switzerland's nuclear reactors will go offline between 2019 and 2034.
BERN, Switzerland—The Swiss government says it will decommission its five nuclear power plants.
The decision not to replace existing nuclear plants after they reach 50 years of use means that Switzerland’s nuclear reactors would go offline between 2019 and 2034, with the Alpine nation turning to entirely non-nuclear sources of power
It comes days after an estimated 20,000 people took part in an anti-nuclear protest.
