Moved 77,800 units nation-wide last year, besting its 2011 sales volumes by 19.5 per cent

MISSISSAUGA, Ont.—The Canadian division of Korean automaker Kia has reported a record year for 2012, topped off by 48 consecutive months of sales growth.

Kia Canada says it moved 77,800 units nation-wide last year, besting its 2011 sales volumes by 19.5 per cent.

The icing on the cake for the growing automaker was its December sales, with a 15.8 per cent year-over-year increase for the month marking an industry-leading 48 months of sales growth.

2012 also represented the first time in the company’s 13 year history four of its vehicle lines exceeded 10,000 sales each in Canada.

According to Kia, the Forte (14,856 units), Sorento (14,031), Rio (13,949) and Optima (11,992) all broke the 10,000 sold mark over the course of the year.
