AURORA, Ont.—A Canadian-based medical manufacturing firm has opened a new manufacturing facility in Ontario to build cosmetic injection tools.
Prollenium Medical Technologies Inc. has opened its new facility, north of Toronto in Aurora, Ont., making it the only manufacturer of dermal fillers for tissue reconstruction in Canada.
The new facility is the only automated syringe manufacturing and packaging line of viscous gels for implantation in Canada, according to the company.
It employs a fully automated process in a clean-room environment with sterilization, packaging and quality control taking place in-house.
Prollenium says the site has been approved by Health Canada.
The new location has the capacity to make more than two million syringes annually.
