Wal-Mart unveils the WAVE futuristic concept truck [WATCH]

BENTONVILLE, Ark.—Wal-Mart Stores Inc. this will week unveiled a new concept truck which could be the key to fleet efficiency in the future.

Dubbed the Walmart Advanced Vehicle Experience, or WAVE, it is replete with aerodynamic features.

The powertrain is comprised of a micro turbine, a battery storage system an an electric motor, and the cab sits over the engine allowing the driver to sit in the middle—the key to its pointed aerodynamic design.

Also, the trailer is manufactured entirely from one-piece 53-foot carbon fibre panels—an industry first.
