TORONTO—Toyota Canada has added a limited edition 2014 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner to it’s long-standing Tacoma mid-size pick up line.
The performance-tuned pick-up will hit dealers this March in limited quantities, but you can sneak a peak at the Canadian International Auto Show starting today at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
A 4.0 L V6 delivers up to 236 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque and is coupled to a six-speed close-ratio manual gearbox with overdrive, a combination that delivers a combined city/highway fuel efficiency of 11.4 L per 100 km.
Its X-Brace reinforced frame and lowered, sport-tuned independent double-wishbone front suspension and leaf spring rear suspension are further enhanced by front and rear stabilizer bars and Bilstein shocks.
Tacoma X-Runner rides on P255/45R18 performance summer radials with 18-in. alloy wheels. The drive train configuration transfers all power to the rear wheels, and is enhanced with a limited-slip differential.
The Toyota X-Runner’s Access Cab model features front sport seats clad in water-repellant fabric and the versatility of rear seats that quickly fold away for additional, covered cargo space.
Owners will find a sliding rear window, privacy glass, and features including: Keyless entry; cruise control; a backup camera; leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob; metallic dash accents; dual illuminated vanity mirrors; and a six-speaker AVN Premium Display Audio System with Bluetooth.
Outside, its sporty performance features a hood scoop; integrated fog lamps; a full skirt package; chrome tailpipe and LED rear lights.
