Montreal-based company to consult on a range of projects at gas-to-liquids plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar

MONTREAL—SNC-Lavalin Inc. has announced its local subsidiary, Qatar Kentz W.L.L., has won a five-year engineering consultancy and support services contract at a gas-to-liquids (GTL) complex in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar.

Awarded by Oryx GTL, a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Sasol Ltd,. a South African chemical company, the deal covers a range of work at the GTL plant in the Middle Eastern country, including general engineering, feasibility studies, modelling, drawings and documentation.

“We are delighted to establish this five-year agreement with Oryx GTL, at a time when the industry is looking for continued development of assets,” Christian Brown, president of Oil & Gas at the Montreal-based company, said. “This agreement positions SNC-Lavalin for success in achieving our vision of being an essential trusted partner to our clients, and we can quickly engage on many work fronts required on the project over the coming years.”

The company did not disclose the financial details of the agreement.
