EDMONTON—Shell Canada says several gas stations in Alberta are out of gas due to a problem at its refinery northeast of Edmonton.

A Shell official says the “supply interruption” is due to an “upset” at its Scotford Refinery near Fort Saskatchewan that happened on August 9.

It’s not known exactly how many stations have been affected by the gas shortage or when they would be back up and running.

Shell says staff are working to solve the problem.
