London Transit Commission replacing old buses that have reached end of life

WINNIPEG—The London Transit Commission has placed an order for more than two dozen new buses with Manitoba-based bus manufacturer New Flyer Industries Inc.

The contract includes 27 of the company’s 40-foot Xcelsior models, as well as a single 60-foot Xcelsior. Both models run on the manufacturer’s clean diesel platform.

Building on a 2014 deal, the new buses will replace a number of older London Transit buses that have reached the end of their lifespan.

The transit provider currently operates more than 200 New Flyer buses across the mid-sized southwest Ontario city.
