Company diversifying client base with work on Ontario mine, CEO says

CALGARY—Alberta-based Stuart Olson Inc. has won approximately $80 million in new contracts for several construction projects in Western Canada and Ontario.

The new work includes mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services for a major mining company with operations in Ontario, as well as a range of contracts for insulation services in Canada’s western provinces with a number of “key customers.”

“These awards further strengthen our backlog and represent significant wins for our Industrial Group,” David LeMay, the company’s president and CEO, said “The mining contract illustrates our diversification across industrial segments and geographic markets, and our ability to provide multi-services to our clients.”

The insulation work is expected to be completed this year, while construction on the mining project will begin in late 2016 and run until early 2018.
