BURNCO Rock Products Ltd. has acquired the business assets of Saskatoon-based Taylor Concrete Group, giving BURNCO its first permanent site in Saskatchewan.

CALGARY and SASKATOON—BURNCO Rock Products Ltd. has acquired the business assets of Saskatoon-based Taylor Concrete Group, giving BURNCO its first permanent site in Saskatchewan.

For the short-term, Taylor Concrete Group will run under the name Taylor Rock Products, a BURNCO Company. All employees are anticipated to continue with the business. “When we go into new markets we prefer to use local talent and not parachute in Calgary managers,” says BURNCO Rock Products Ltd CEO Scott Burns. “We intend to fully integrate with the local community.” BURNCO’s desire is to run the business as a successful supplier in the Saskatchewan market area.

BURNCO is a fourth generation family business established in Calgary in 1912 by James F. Burns. Today, it’s Canada’s largest independent supplier of ready-mix concrete, a major supplier of asphalt and aggregate products and operates a network of landscape centres throughout Western Canada.
