Company continues expansion into Midwest with deal

TORONTO—Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd., a Canadian manufacturer of containerboard and corrugated packaging products, has acquired Skybox Packaging, a Mansfield, Ohio manufacturer and distributor of packaging supplies. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

“Skybox is a great company with a leadership team that shares many of the core values we do. The acquisition is a natural fit that acts as a seed investment to grow our manufacturing platform in Ohio,” Dave Boles, president of Atlantic Packaging, said.

“Mansfield is a terrific location from which to grow thanks to its proximity to multiple key target markets,” he added.

Atlantic said Skybox operates a more than 100,000 square-foot facility and uses a strong logistical network and inventory management system to reach its customers.

With the acquisition, Atlantic continues to expand its American footprint. The company announced a partnership with Illinois-based StandFast Group earlier this year, and the Ohio facility will add to its strength in the Midwest.

Atlantic intends to keep current Skybox leadership in place and said it will continue its U.S. growth initiative.
