Akhil Johri succeeds Greg Hayes, who became president and CEO last month

HARTFORD, Conn.—United Technologies is bringing back a longtime executive to serve as chief financial officer.

Akhil Johri succeeds Greg Hayes, who became president and CEO of the conglomerate last month after the unexpected departure of CEO Louis Chenevert (Shen-eh-VAIRT).

Hayes said that Johri is highly respected for his ability to communicate with Wall Street and with shareholders.

The 53-year-old Johri was CFO of Pall Corp. But he had been with United Technologies for 26 years before that, serving in various executive positions. When he left the company, he was vice-president of finance and CFO for UTC Propulsion and Aerospace Systems.
