DETROIT—Chevrolet’s Camaro ZL1 recorded a lap of 7:41 at the legendary Nurburgring—almost 40 seconds faster than a Camaro SS tested at the German track in 2009.
The track, a 12.9 mile behemoth that includes 154 turns, is considered the world’s most-demanding course.
The ZL1 used for the lap was a production-intent 6.2L 580 horsepower model, with no performance modifications, driven by Camaro performance engineer Aaron Link.
