BOUCHERVILLE, Que.—The Quebec-based manufacturer famed for its three-wheeled performance vehicles has announced a new BMW-powered addition to its lineup.
Campagna Motors says its new, limited edition T-REX 16S will be powered by a BMW in-line six-cylinder engine, a powerplant Campagna sales and marketing director Michel Paquette described as the “most compact and efficient” of its class on the market.
“It took several years to find a reputable engine manufacturer that would fulfill our requirements,” Paquette said in a statement. “The collaboration with BMW’s engineers helped our engineering group with the integration of the new engine and transmission, new electronic systems and a multitude of other components and accessories.”
The new hand-built 16S will feature electronic driving mode selection, which Campagna said will offer better control and a safer drive under adverse weather conditions and road surfaces, as well as a complete Alpine audio system including Sirius satellite radio, and MP3 and Bluetooth connectivity.
Campagna said the 16S will be available starting in June 2013, with pre-orders starting in March.
