Agropur plans to boost production at Wisconsin whey processing facility
Longueuil, Que. – Dairy processing co-operative Agropur is investing $100 million in its Kewaunee County, Wis. whey processing plant.
The company says the investment, its largest capitalization project to date, will more than double current production capacity at the plant. The move will better enable the company to meet growing demand for its dairy products.
Other plans include upgrading technology, constructing a new 120,000-sq.-ft. building, and improving the facility’s wastewater treatment system.
The upgrades are expected to be completed in 2014.
Agropur has seven U.S. facilities, four of them in Wisconsin.
