New space will house processing equipment for cooked meat and poultry
Brampton, Ont. – Cardinal Meat Specialists is expanding its Brampton plant to add approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of production space.
The Brampton facility primarily produces frozen hamburger patties for retail and foodservice.
The new space will also be home to Cardinal’s Advanced Protein Portioning (APP) system for cooked meat and poultry products.
According to Meatingplace.com, Cardinal will use a unique combination of equipment to create a flexible processing line for cooked, portion-controlled meat products, with the finishing cook done in a sealed pouch.
Operations in the new space are expected to begin in March.
