SHELBURNE, Ont.—An Ontario auto parts manufacturer is kicking off an $11 million expansion project at its welding and stamping plant northwest of Toronto.
Using private funds and $572,000 in funding from the provincial government, KTH Shelburne Manufacturing plans to add floor space and buy new equipment at its Shelburne, Ont. plant.
“Shelburne is a great manufacturing location for us with talented workers. This investment will allow us to further grow our business in this vibrant community,” Tom Cunningham, the company’s president, said.
A subsidiary of KTH Parts Industries Inc., the company builds components for the Honda Civics and CRVs that roll off the line at the Japanese automaker’s assembly plants in nearby Alliston, Ont. The expansion project will create 26 new jobs at KTH’s approximately 380,000 square-foot plant.
The parts company expects to finish the project by the spring of 2017.
