AJAX, Ont.—Planning to bolster its entry level luxury lineup in Canada in the coming months, German automaker Audi has announced the all-new A3 sedan will have a Canadian sticker price of $31,100 when it hits showrooms next spring.

According to Audi Canada Inc., the all-new 2015 sedan model of its compact A3 family will come standard with a panoramic glass sunroof, leather seating and the automaker’s MMI technology infotainment system.

“The Audi A3 sedan represents a new opportunity for Audi Canada,” Audi Canada president Wolfgang Hoffmann said in a statement.

“It will allow us to expand our offerings to Canadians and showcase lightweight materials, technology and sporty characteristics to a whole new segment.”

A host of powertrains will be offered in the sedan, according to Audi, including 1.8- and 2.0-litre TFSI gas engines and a 2.0-litre TDI clean diesel.

A high-output 2.0-litre TFSI powerplant will power the S3 when it launches.

All models feature Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive system and standard 6-speed S-tronic transmission.

The sedan model is the first addition to the rapidly expanding A3 family of entry level vehicles.

According to the automaker, joining the A3 sportback and sedan models will be the recently announced cabriolet and TDI clean diesel, followed by a gas-electric hybrid version of the the sportback and a high-performance S3 sedan in 2015.

Audi said the sedan is set to go on sale in spring 2014.
