Aecon wins $60M contract from Enbridge for terminal expansion

EDMONTON—Construction giant Aecon Group Inc. has been awarded a $60-million contract from Enbridge Pipelines Inc. as part of the oil and gas firm’s South Edmonton Terminal expansion project.
According to Aecon, the contract covers structural, mechanical and piping installation and pipe fabrication for the expansion of the terminal’s south portion.
Aecon said the pipe fabrication will take place at its Sherwood Park, Alta., facility.
“This award underlines both the significance of our relationships with key clients such as Enbridge, and the growth of our business in the energy sector in Western Canada,” Aecon president and CEO Teri McKibbon said in a release.
Work is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2015.
