Non-contacting LVDT position sensors from Macro Sensors keep steel rolling mill operations running smoothly resulting in less downtime.
They monitor the position of milling frames that support rollers during the hot rolling process to ensure frames
don’t deform or shift, and the position of the rollers themselves.
Macro Sensors, a manufacturer based in Pennsauken, NJ, has built in long-term operation for use within the high temperature environment of steel rolling mills.
They’re sealed to IEC standard IP-68, rated to 85 degrees C and resist moisture as well as contamination from airborne particulates or other dirt and grime.
