Tire manufacturer and province expected to announce expansion plans this week.
HALIFAX: The Nova Scotia government and Michelin are set to make an announcement this week at the tire company’s Waterville plant.
Michelin has been looking at expanding its operations in the Annapolis Valley community.
In May, Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter announced funding for a study that would look at relocating the Waterville Municipal Airport to allow for expansion at Michelin.
Dexter is attending the Michelin news conference and is scheduled to make an announcement under the Nova Scotia Jobs Fund in Waterville on Thursday.
Michelin’s workforce in Nova Scotia stands at about 3,500 people, with about 1,200 employed at the Waterville plant.
