Luxor Cinema chain will license 141 systems for six theatres
LONGUEUIL, Que.: D-BoxTechnologies Inc. has its first agreement with Luxor Cinema Chain, the fourth largest theatre circuit in Russia, it install its seat-motion systems in six theatres.
The Longueuil, Que.-based entertainment-tech manufacturer will install 141 of its D-Box MFX Systems in the six locations by October.
This is the company’s first sale for commercial theatre use in Russia and will generate licensing fees based on the use of the system.
No financial information was released.
Its patented D-Box Motion Code technology uses motion specifically programmed for each film, TV series or video game. The effects are sent to a motion generating system integrated within a platform or seat and are synchronized with all onscreen action.

Luxor’s initial commitment to equip multiple theatres reemphasizes the growing acceptance of our motion systems by theatre circuits around the globe,” said Claude Mc Master, president and CEO of D-BOX Technologies.
The installations at the six theatres are to be completed by October.
D-Box designs, manufactures and markets motion systems intended mainly for the entertainment and industrial simulation markets.
To date, the technology is available on more than 900 titles.
