For refueling and merchant applications
BLAINVILLE, Que.: Xebec Adsorption Inc. has signed a $3.25 million license and engineering service agreement (ESA) with Nuvera Fuel Cells for the development of two rapid-cycle hydrogen purification units for use in hydrogen refueling and merchant hydrogen applications.
Xebec, a Blainville Que. provider of clean energy biogas upgrading, natural gas and hydrogen purification, said the agreement builds on previously completed product development projects for its advanced separation and rapid cycle pressure saving adsorption (PSA) technology that purifies gases.
The company’s technology allows operation at significantly higher cycling rates using less adsorbent material and smaller-sized equipment.
The agreement also involves applying some of Nuvera’s intellectual property related to hydrogen purification for refueling and merchant hydrogen applications.
Nuvera is a Bellerica, Ma.-based developer of fuel cell systems and fuel processors.
