Union Pacific tells its 150 year history
OMAHA, Nebraska: A company that was founded when Abraham Lincoln signed the Pacific Railway Act is now telling its story on iPads.
In celebration of its 150 years in operation, Union Pacific (UP) created an interactive, narrative timeline using words and pictures to depict major milestones in the company’s history.
The timelines is available both online and in e-book format, where it is available for a free download from iTunes.
In addition to the history ebook, UP also has another app available for fans of vintage trains. It provides tracking data and other information about the company’s Number 844 steam locomotive as it crosses 23 US states, as part of the sesquicentennial celebrations.
